Neil’s turn today. He took my camera with him when he went to his physio this morning and took a few shots of Yialos, and the walk down. Part of the physio is to walk on the treadmill, (without it I am sure we would have no street lighting). Rather than have MTV blaring out, your entertainment while you exercise, Symi style, is the view from the window in front of you.

Yialos Symi

Of course, Neil being Neil, he couldn’t resist some arty shots too.

You can see all the photos in the gallery here.

I had a nice chat with Anne Zouroudi the other evening – the next in her series of books is due out later this year. Her first, The Messenger of Athens (see our books page) is up for another award and she tells me she had just finished work on the third. Can’t wait. It did make me think I should set to work on Symi 85600 part two and a new novel (SHOC) which is in my head but never seems to have time to get out. Maybe in the winter.

The Symi Dream gallery is now empty while the shop downstairs is crowded with contributions ready to go upstairs for the ODAS exhibition that starts on Saturday. Don’t forget if you are here on Saturday (9th), there will be the viewing at 7.30 with wine etc. all being well: I still can’t get the town hall email to work, I’ve emailed their webmaster saying that the mail bounces back but haven’t heard anything. (The town hall is donating the wine.)

Enough of the siger siger & write 86500 Mk2, any chance you might also produce a historical/points of interest/Symi tales book

I’ll beaver away on the new book as soon as I can – I have the title, which I can’t reveal yet as I’m still checking the legalities…?? All will be revealed. Meanwhile, we’ve just started putting together http://www.symistories.com which will, I hope, one day be full of historical info, tales and even photos. Take a look – there’s a link at the top of the right hand column. (Or just click that link <<)
