What to do on Symi when it rains
For me it’s staying in the house and writing. Particularly as today started with high winds and I could see the sea white with waves. From my desk I can see them crashing against Nimos, at least I could until a thunderstorm rolled overhead on its way around the coast. The rain has battered the roof and towels are down at the balcony doors. And only two days ago we were picking up the first of a sun tan down at Pedi, coming home with red faces.
But now the working day is over (I say day, it’s more like the working five hours) and it’s time to get the Xbox fired up as ‘Lost’ the game version arrived yesterday. But I feel no guilt at playing it in the gloom of this afternoon; the garden is overgrown but there’s nothing I can do about that in the rain and I have just written my next month’s piece for Symi Visitor so time off is calling.
