At great risk to life and limb (not really), I went up on to the roof this morning to see if I could get a short video of the approaching storm. I’ve put this up on our YouTube page so you can click over there and have a look. It’s not exactly Hollywood, much noise from the wind on the microphone etc. but you might be able to get an idea of a warm, windy and cloudy morning over Symi. You can see the church at Ag. Athanasios, just behind us, with the cloud coming down over the Vigla, then Pedi, then later a view from the balcony with the sky over the windmills flashing with distant lightening. Or you may just see a couple of minutes of the view from the roof, but it was early! The weather forecast showed bad weather all over Greece and Europe this morning, and we seem to be under a swirl of cloud that’s carrying a storm around us. A little rain but not much so far, though the wind is rattling the tiles on the pitched roof.

I did hear the wind gathering during the night but more than that I heard the latest cat-fight taking place somewhere outside. It invaded my dreams and eventually woke me up; but I wasn’t going out to break it up. The Alarm Cat looked a bit battered this morning, a few more scratches on his nose, a ‘black’ eye and a limp – so I hate to think what the other guy looks like. Jack is now sleeping it off in the wardrobe, his place of sanctuary when he’s not feeling 100%.

Last night’s music rehearsal and dinner went well, some great moments with piano, guitar and flute in the front room – it’s a shame I’ve only got the small keyboard for actual performances, we’re not carrying the Roland with us, far to heavy – but much, much easier and better to play.

Last January

Neil’s off to the gallery to start getting it ready for the Symi Gallery exhibition that opens on Friday evening – 7.00pm, all welcome. It will run until Christmas Eve and will be open during shop hours and evenings; entrance free as usual. If I am not mistaken this is the fifth Symi Art Gallery exhibition, and about the 15th Symi Art exhibition to be held at Symi Dream.
