Summer holiday? Got to be Symi.
Here’s an up to date photo from Symi harbour showing the on-going roadworks around the main harbour road.
Over recent years it looks like there has been funding available for repaving and so the paths have been paved, and then parts of the road were repaved, and now this is extending around the north side of the harbour, past the famous Takis Leather shop.
The other photos today show Yialos a couple of days ago, calm and quiet, with businesses not yet quite out of hibernation. But it won’t be long now before tables and chairs are out on forecourts, shops and tavernas get a sweep out and are made ready for the summer. There is a little way to go before then though, a few more weeks of quiet winter activity: walks and dinners, specializing, preparing stock lists, photos, writing, more walks, dancing, birthday parties, and so on.
And so your mind might be turning towards the summer holiday this year and where to go. Well, as always we can heartily recommend this small slice of the Mediterranean, and if you’re after some ideas for holiday companies to investigate then why not take a look at our Symi Holidays page.
If you’re coming to Rhodes and want a day trip to Symi then check out our ‘Day trips to Symi’ page here.

We also have one about getting to Symi from Athens.
As always, you will need to double check with travel companies, shipping lines, flights and so on to make sure they are working, and that this info is up to date.
So, stop hanging around here reading this and get to your travel agent, or online booking page and start investigating this year’s summer holiday on Symi. It’s going to be a good one. We’re offering the usual wine nights and exhibitions, there will be regular photo walks, afternoons in the sun, evenings on the steps, chat and stories to catch up on, and that’s just at the Symi Dream shop.
