Now I’m not promising anything here but…
I am spending more and more time at my desk, looking out over the sea to Turkey and working on this darling little PC. So I thought I would try a blog. Which is another way of saying an on-line diary. Which is another way of saying that when I get time I will sit here and ramble on about everything and nothing and try and keep you up to date with what I know is going on on Symi. Which is another way of saying very little as I spend all my time at my desk looking out over the sea to Turkey…
But hey ho. Here we go and we’ll see how it works.
We’ll still have the village view to look forward to every month where I will try and be slightly witty but I may replace the monthly updates and have this instead. Tha Thoume, as they say in Greek – we shall see.
So, let’s start with a picture of said view that I will go and take right now…

As you can see, it’s calm and quiet today weather-wise and our neighbours are taking advantage of this to hang out the washing on the communal washing line.
Yesterday morning was a little more interesting:
And that’s the weather update for you – no rain for a few days now.
As for other news and gossip…
Some folk have gone to Rhodes today for Christmas shopping. Neil was thinking of going as the power was due to be out from nine a.m. until five p.m. today and there was no point in opening the shop. Instead it went off from 8.55 a.m. to 9.20 so we both went to work. Tomorrow it’s supposed to be off for the morning, if I understood the loudspeaker announcement correctly.
Miss Windmill is going to Rhodes tomorrow and hopes to have the platinum and titanium rods taken out of her leg and no, she won’t be allowed to keep them. Ma is going with her and they are staying over night so we will be taking Wawa out for dinner.
We donated a prize to the school Christmas bazaar that was held outside Chouchi Gold at the weekend and tomorrow sees the grand draw of the raffle where a fully working and new PC is the top prize. Jenine and Jannie took charge of the event which, by all accounts, was a great success. The mulled wine was a hit with me.
And for those who know her Ms DJ has got new top teeth. He he! Couldn’t resist that one!
More news soon.
