Last minute buying and a new Symi gallery exhibition
Although it is getting towards the end of the season there’s not much sign of anything slowing down up in the village. Monday and Tuesday were busy nights in the shop, I am pleased to say. There are now no Symi 85600 or Jason and the Sargonauts books left, and only a few calendars. (More will be bought in for next season and you can always find our Symi Dream products at http://stores.lulu.com/store.php?fAcctID=562654) And we need to produce some more limited edition photos and cards. It’s been like a last burst of activity before the winter sets in, which is handy. The kafeneion were busy on Tuesday night when we called in after work, as were the tavernas that we passed. Let’s see how the last few weeks of October treat us.
We went to a party on Monday and I was interested to see the Dodecanese Pride still tied up down there in Yialos at eleven in the evening – someone told me last night that it had broken down, but I think it’s running again now, so best check the online timetables if you’re heading this way soon, just to be sure.
And I remembered what it was we had booked for Friday. The next exhibition is opening at the Symi Gallery [see www.symigallery.com] at 7.30 and everyone is invited to the event.

Meanwhile things continue to tick over and there is nothing very exciting to report from up here; except that I’ve just ordered myself a clarinet to add to the musical instrument arsenal. This one is from a beginner range, I think they are intended for schools and children really as I had a choice of colours, rather than the traditional black: I opted for the purple model. Hardly classic and would never been seen in an orchestra, but then neither will I so that’s ok. So the poor neighbours will have three woodwind instruments and the piano to contend with this winter.

Hmmm, still no washing line pics despite two personal requests!
