A new clarinet to add to the orchestra, or is it an arsenal?
Just dashed down to Yialos to pick up the clarinet which has arrived. Put it together in the shop and… well, it’s so much easier than the oboe and the sax. And, what’s even better for the neighbours is that I can play it quietly – the oboe only comes in loud at the moment. But I’ve stopped now as the funeral bells are tolling. This is very much a beginners’ model, Venus clarinet and a wonderful purple colour. I’ll have to find a beginners’ book while I am away; I have a fingering chart to get me started but I don’t think I will be ready for the music night tomorrow – we are playing in Pedi again with Mike and Susan, but I think I will stay with the piano tomorrow, where I, and the audience, will be safer.
Neil took some photos for a client the other day and she passed by where we were having dinner last night and asked if I could put them on the internet. So, here are a couple of them.

There are still some visitors around the village at the moment though things are definitely quieter than of late, the sky has more clouds in it and there was a little drop of rain yesterday. We’ve put some new plastic on the roof, it’s blue this year making the kitchen even darker than usual and now a deep blue. Let’s hope it does the trick.

The Symi Dream Gallery will be closing on Wednesday (come and collect your work any time, if you have any in the gallery – Terri will have the key when we are away). And the shop is going to be closed for three weeks too; annual holiday. I’ve booked a room in the Plaza for Thursday night and then we’re off. Just need to check out the new rucksack, find some clothes, pack, make a list of 101 things to do before going, do them, tick them off and then remember whatever I forget to put on the list… We’ve been planning this trip since about June and suddenly it’s here. Where did that summer go?

Arsenal?!! Only if you plan on using it as a weapon
